Here's our take on the story, based on the official trailer released by Netflix. The film's main protagonist, Zeynep Altin (Naomi Krauss), has had a difficult life due to her work and family responsibilities. She has been overworking for the sake of their family's future, but she is constantly pushed around by her irresponsible husband, ungrateful daughter, and aging father. Unfortunately, Zeynep's mother, the one person who truly loved her, has passed, and she couldn't do anything for her while she was alive, not to mention her family didn't treat her well all this time.

Apparently, Zeynep's mother secretly bought a house on the Island of Croatia and endowed it to her adored daughter in her will. Stuck in an existential crisis, Zeynep decides to do the one thing that may finally offer her peace: escape her stressful life for the last gift her mother had planned for her. Although it appears that Zeynep has finally found peace, when she arrives at the house on an island, she discovers that it is occupied by a handsome man named Josip. Could this encounter change her life forever in ways she never anticipated?

Zeynep Altin (Naomi Krauss) is at the end of her tether. She's over-worked and pushed around by her husband, daughter and aging father. Her mother's death and her funeral, which nearly ends in total disaster, is the last straw for Zeynep – she leaves Munich and escapes to an island in Croatia. In the house her mother bought secretly years ago, and gifted to her in her will, she hopes to find peace, freedom and herself. If only the former owner, Josip, an islander through and through, wasn't still living on the same property…

Faraway: The Cast & Crew
Naomi Krauss, who made her on-screen debut in 2000 with the film Lieb mich!, plays the leading role of Zeynep Altin in Faraway. Although she appeared in other films over the next decade, she shifted her focus to television series in 2011 and appeared in a series of hit shows, including Police Call 110, Tatort, and Check. Check. Her most well-known films include The International, Blind & Ugly, Redemption Road, and The Invisibles.

Josip Cega, the male protagonist, will be played by Goran Bogdan. The actor has received multiple awards at international film festivals worldwide for Best Leading Role in Otac and Agape. Zlomovchannya, Sonja and the Bull, Father, and Kick and Scream are among his best-known works. Aside from the two main characters, additional characters with significant roles in the film include Adnan Maral (Unknown) as Ilyas Altin, Bahar Balci as Fia Altin, Artjom Gilz (Without Remorse) as Conrad, and Davor Tomic (Hotel Portofino) as Drazen Cega.
Since the film will be available in four different languages, we may assume that Germany will be the original, and the others will be voiced by actors from the relevant languages. Vanessa Jopp directed the film, which was written by Jane Ainscough (Eltern) and Alex Kendall (All Quiet on the Western Front). The former is an experienced filmmaker who has previously directed films such as Midlife Crisis, Vergiss Amerika, Engel & Joe, and The Space Between the Lines. Viola Jager is the film's producer, with Darko Lovrinic and Diego Zanco serving as line producers in association with the production companies Olga Film and Pakt Media.
